Safety is a Top priority when servicing Recycling equipment. Dealing with large heavy equipment such as a tire shredder or wood shredder the safety of the operator and maintenance personnel is most important. Always follow Lock-out Tag-out procedures. Never climb in or on a machine while the power source is connected. Remember most of the parts to a shredder are very heavy and may require additional equipment such as a crane or forklift to aid in lifting of such parts. Be sure to have suitable number of personnel and equipment to perform the desired task safely. Wear appropriate safety attire such as high visibility vest, hard hats, steel toe boots, and glasses where deemed necessary. Accidents happen very quickly. Remember to always be safe and take all the necessary precautions before servicing any of your Recycling equipment.
