Our Company Unlimited Resources Corporation presently has a very nice Portable Whole Tire Shredding system available for sale.  This system has a model Granutech/ Saturn Model 62 X 40HT Shredder which is capable of processing whole semi-truck and passenger size tires down to 2” nominal size tire chips.  This unit is in the process of being completely refurbished in our shop at this present time.  These portable units are very hard to find and when and if you do find one are generally completely worn out.  And that is what we’ve basically started off with on this machine when we purchased it.  We stripped the machine completely down to the bare trailer and have been building it back to what we feel is going to be a very nice and productive machine once completed.  This is going to be a unit that should be able to perform for a very long time since we have basically built it back to be much better and more productive than what it was when it was manufactured new by Granutech/Saturn.

Here are many of the details on this particular item or system that we’re presently offering for sale.

This equipment is all being mounted onto a single drop, triple axle, 48’ long Aztec 100,000 GW trailer.  We have installed a complete new tread plate steel floor on this trailer and checked and repaired all the brakes and wiring on this trailer.  Then we have installed a 600 H.P. KTA1900 series Cummins diesel powered 400 KW Onan generator set with only 846 actual operating hours and we just put a new radiator on this unit.  This generator set will power all the equipment on this system.  This generator set will then power the Hydraulic power pac on this unit which is powered by a 200 H.P. electric motor that is direct coupled to a model 90R 130 Sauer-Danfoss Model pump that is capable of producing 4,500 PSI.  This is used to power the brand new SAI hydraulic motor that drives the gear box on the completely refurbished Model 62 X 40HT Granutech/ Saturn shredder.  This shredder will have brand new cutter shafts installed along with new keys in these shafts and a new drive pinion to drive the gears inside the gear box.  This shredder will also have brand new (2) hook 2’’ thick hard faced knives in the primary part of the shredding chamber and (11) hook 1- ½” thick hard faced knives in the secondary part of the shredding chamber.  The shredder will also have new cleaning fingers and rails installed to hold the cleaning fingers.  NOTE: These machines came from the factory new with only 3000 PSI and now this machine will be producing 4,500 PSI which will really make the machine much more productive.

This unit will have a completely rebuilt West Salem Model 48” wide X 9’ long Rotary Disc Screen Classifier installed on it also for the sizing of the processed tires down to 2” nominal size TDF chips.  And all six of the conveyor belts will each be rebuilt with new conveyor belts, electric motors, new gear reducers, new head and tail pulleys, new shafts and new bearings.   Note also: all these conveyors will be driven electrically along with all the other items with the exception of the hydraulic driven shredder.

This unit will be very productive and have much more torque than the typical 62 X 40HT shredder.  It will work great for the shredding of semi-truck and passenger tires.  This unit is quite unique in that it carries all the necessary conveyors on the machine to move it from one location to the next without requiring an additional support trailer to have to move these items.  Then once you’re at a new location you will have to move a couple of conveyors from their travel position to their operating position.  This is usually done easily with a boom truck or a front-end loader with a boom attachment that this machine already has with it.  This unit is being built back very heavy duty and should last for many years without having to make any major repairs other than re-building the wear items such as the cutting knives and cleaning fingers.

This machine will have a refurbished electrical control panel that has been custom built to meet the needs of this particular application.  And the 200 H.P. electric motor that powers the hydraulic pump to power the shredder will be furnished with a new ABB soft start.  All the other electric motor starters will be direct across the line starters.

Finally this unit will be completely cleaned, primered and painted Caterpillar yellow and this machine will be ready to go and provide dependable service for many years.  Note:  There are hardly any portable machines available in the country especially any that produce a 2” nominal TDF chip.  So if you’re presently looking at purchasing a portable tire shredding machine then you need to definitely give Elaine or Richard a call about this unique opportunity.
