“For Sale” Mobile or Portable Tire Shredder

Our Company Unlimited Resources Corporation has just recently completed the rebuilding of a Granutech/ Saturn Model 62 X 40HT mobile or portable waste tire shredding system.  This unit will take whole semi-truck or passenger tires and shred them down to 2” nominal size tire chips or TDF.  This machine has been completely refurbished from top to bottom and has had no expense spared on the repair of this machine.  This machine has been built to be a much heavier duty machine than what it originally was when it was shipped new from the factory.  We have made many updates and improvements to how this unit will perform and operate more efficiently and also more productively than it did originally.  Please take a look at all the following specifications on this machine and you will see that this unit is one that you need to have in your inventory.

This equipment is all being mounted onto a single drop, triple axel, 48’ long Aztec 100,000 GW trailer.  We have installed a complete new tread plate steel floor on this trailer and checked and repaired all the brakes and wiring on this trailer.  This trailer has either new or like new tires mounted all the way around.  Thus, giving the base of this machine a very sound foundation from which to begin building this complete tire recycling system. All the conveyors were in much need for being rebuilt so we individually rebuilt each of these conveyors with all new parts including new head pulleys, tail pulleys, gear reducers, electric motors, shafts, bearings, takeups and belts.  Much of the floors and sides of these conveyors needed to be refurbished as well so all these items were all addressed during this phase of the rebuild.  The disc screen classifier that was on this unit was completely worn out also so we modified a refurbished West Salem Disc Screen that we had in our inventory to work in this application.  This disc screen has much more capacity than what the original one has and should allow for the machine to function better in conjunction with all the updates that we did to the shredder on this application.

This machine was shipped new from the factory with what we call a Diesel Hydraulic setup whereas the Diesel engine is direct coupled to a bank of several hydraulic pumps and this directly powered all the hydraulics’ on the machine to operate all the equipment on this machine.  Nothing was basically operated electrically this is where we have changed this machine a lot.  The machine now is basically what we call a complete electric powered machine.  It does have its own 400 K.W. Cummins powered generator set on board that can easily power this whole system, but if you’re at a location where you have electrical power available then you can directly hook this machine to this power and not have to run the generator set.  This machine could easily be used as a stationary machine whereas it did all the primary shredding (whole tires down to 2” nominal TDF chips) for a larger secondary grinding operation or it could be responsible for going to different locations where it would be responsible for shredding whole tires down to 2” nominal size materials.  Because this unit is basically all self-contained it makes it such a valuable machine that can be operating at one location this week and then another the following week.  All the conveyors for this unit are all hauled on this one trailer unit.  And when you get this unit to one of its locations where it is going to be used it will then require a loader or boom truck to place both the in-feed and out-feed conveyor into place.  Once in place then the machines ready to operate until it is needed in another location then the machine would have to have both the in-feed and out-feed conveyors swung back into place for proper storage for moving to the next location.  Then you would once again need to move both the in-feed and out-feed conveyors back into place for proper operation.

Years ago we sold many of these mobile shredding units back when each state had countless landfill operations and many waste tire clean-up sites.  Most of these sites here in the United States have now been cleaned up and the need for these portable machines really has been minimized in the past several years.  Because many of these machines were completely worn out most of them were scrapped and new ones never built to fill their voids.  We bought this machine with the understanding that we were going to build it to be a premiere portable shredding machine.  One that we were going to take great pride in building and that would work well if someone had the need for a first class portable shredding machine.

We just finished up the shredder box on this shredder this past week. It required lots of new parts directly from Granutech/ Saturn who was the manufacture of this machine originally when it was built new.  And the great thing about this machine is that Granutech/Saturn does keep in stock nearly all the items for this particular model machine.  If you do have a breakdown parts are readily available right off the shelf.  Unlike most other makes and models shredders.  When I ordered the parts to put this shredder box back together I sat down and made my order out and within a couple of days I had all the parts here on site and ready to install into my shredder.  And as with everything else on this endeavor we didn’t spare any cost if an items showed any signs of wear it was replaced with a new part.  Along with this large order of OME parts that we’d purchased from Granutech/Saturn we also purchased a brand new set of hard-faced knives and spacers and cleaning fingers.  Thus making this shredder box basically a new complete unit.  We used (2) hook 2” thick knives in the primary shredding section of the cutting chamber and (12) hook 1 ½” thick knives in the secondary shredding section of the cutting chamber.

Since we’ve been in business now for over 30 years we’ve sold well over 50 of this particular make and model shredders.  Way more than any other make or model shredder and the main reason is because it’s such an easy machine to work on and it’s what we have always called our mom and pop machine, because it’s also very easy to learn to operate and they are so very dependable.  This machine will differ some from your standard machine in that it will be powered by a completely much more powerful 4,500 PSI Hydraulic Power unit.  And this will allow for the machine to make easy work of shredding semi-truck tires where before it was quite a task for the borderline power of the normal standard Model 62 X 40HT.  Not to worry the shredder box on this unit will easily handle this upgrade and will perform ideally even when it is being pushed to perform more robustly.  We know this because we have made this same update to several other similar shredders.  When we do this hydraulic up-grade we will switch the KYB Hydraulic motor out because the KYB can only operate at 2,900 PSI.  So we will replace this unit with a much more desirable new SAI Hydraulic motor that is designed to operate at 5,000PSI.  When it’s all said and done this unit will be such a wonderful addition to anyone’s shredding capabilities.  To say were taking a piece of metal and turning it into a diamond well it’s probably a statement that is almost the truth.  This machine will definitely stand the test of time and will still be performing its task when most other machines have all been put to rest.  We really believe in this shredder or we sure wouldn’t have spent the kind of money that we have to get it what we feel is like new condition.

If you have any interest in this unit please feel free to contact either Elaine or Richard at 660-295 4204 with any questions about this once in a life time offering.  We have many pictures available of this machine in travel position or operating position that shows how nice the machine looks.  Also we have a couple of nice video’s of this machine in operation that shows exactly how the machines operates.  Thanks for taking the time to look at this extremely nice equipment offering.
