This unit is powered by a model 25000 series industrial Allis Chalmers diesel engine.
We have recently brought this generator set in our shop and checked it over. This unit was previously purchased new by a city and was used as stand by power for a major pumping station. The unit presently shows 1178 hours and we believe this to be the correct hours but of course we can’t be positive. The unit runs great and does have a little blow by from the engine, and it seems to be operating properly and making electricity.
This unit has 300 kva and is running at 60 Hertzs. We presently have this unit set up to produce electricity at 460 volts but we could easily change this to 230 volts if that’s what you needed. This unit does come complete with a 400 amp disconnect.
This generator is skid mounted and comes complete with its own radiator for cooling. It also has its own battery charging alternator to keep the batteries charged. Note: this unit does not have a fuel tank. Unit will be painted Caterpillar yellow.
This makes for very cheap power because of what we have this unit priced at. This would work ideally for a back-up unit and it should offer dependable service for many years to come.
